All-day brunch built like a Puerto Rican corner bar — loud plates, slow mornings, no rush.

A bar that feels like it has been open for forty years — and opened last month.
Jangueo borrows everything from the traditional Puerto Rican bar: the shadowed serif sign, the palm, the tiled dado, the newspaper trolley by the door. Then it hands it a brunch menu. Green, mustard and cream do all the work; nothing is designed to look new, only to look kept. The word itself — janguear, to hang out — is the whole brief.

“mientras uno esté vivo, uno debe amar lo más que pueda.”
Printed on the back of every menu. The voice is Spanish first, warm, a little sentimental — the way a place talks when it knows your order.
